This week Allsopp comes to the rescue of Louise Hunt, an emergency call operator from Essex. Louise has come a-cropper with her first time buy – a money pit that has cost her so much she’s moved back in with her parents and rented out the flat’s only habitable bedroom to cover her mortgage. Louise throws herself into upcycling with Charis, but will she approve of Kirstie’s designs? Also from Essex are young lovebirds Ferne Langridge and Peter Baker. They’ve both just moved out of their parents’ homes – but when it comes to furnishing their new flat, they haven’t got further than the bedroom. Max “turns it up to 11” to create an amplified sofa for guitarist Peter. Kirstie discovers ways to decorate on the cheap when she visits a Somerset cottage owned by film set designers.
