In the fifth week, the potters have to make two giant vases. For the first time in the competition, they use one of ceramics' most exhilarating techniques: pit firing. This ancient firing method is one of the most unpredictable techniques in ceramics and requires the potters to travel to the Staffordshire countryside to spend the night camping.
